The October Testament Hardcover Edition (and PDF version)
Ruth Magnusson Davis has updated William Tyndale’s New Testament as it was contained in the Matthew Bible of John Rogers. Rogers first published the Matthew Bible in 1537. Few people know it formed the basis of the KJV. Ruth plans to update the full Matthew Bible, but has first published the New Testament here. Her approach is not to make a new translation, but to update that which we first received – which was the best.
Exceptionally beautiful, with sewn binding, a ribbon marker, and marbled endpapers that replicate the endpapers in Ruth’s genuine Matthew Bible.
First printing: No longer available.
Second printing: September 2016. $55US each.
The hardcover is lighter than the paperback due to the lightweight paper used, and the font size is slightly larger.

Ruth will answer each request personally. Warning – Canadian shipping rates are high. Sorry, I can’t help it! I do NOT advise tracking and insurance (extra $3-5 to the USA and $25 to Australia!) I’ve never had a book go missing yet.
“My goal was not to make a modern bible, but to keep as much of the old as possible while making the language understandable for today.”
– Editor Ruth Magnusson Davis
Ruth is a retired lawyer and a scholar of Early Modern English, the works of William Tyndale, and the Matthew Bible. She worked almost seven years full time on this New Testament.
