William Tyndale’s New Testament Gently Updated
Ruth Magnusson Davis of Vancouver Island, Canada, has updated William Tyndale’s New Testament as it was contained in the Matthew Bible of John Rogers.
Rogers first published the Matthew Bible in 1537. Few people know that it formed the basis of the KJV. Ruth plans to update all the ‘Matthew’ scriptures, but has first published the New Testament here. Her approach is not to make a new translation, but to update that which we first received – which she firmly believes was the best. She has faithfully kept the style and meaning of the original. Read it: you will love it! Tyndale’s scriptures are faithful and true.
Sample scriptures are on Ruth’s website
“My goal was not to make a modern bible, but to keep as much of the old as possible while making the language understandable for today.”
– Editor Ruth Magnusson Davis
Ruth is a retired lawyer and a scholar of Early Modern English, the works of William Tyndale, and the Matthew Bible. She worked almost seven years full time on this New Testament.
The paperback edition is print on demand. Ruth has made minor corrections and emendments since first publishing in April, 2016. Details here.
